These special bricks will be placed near the entrance of the new Dog Park.  You can set up a permanent memorial to your favorite dog(s) with their NAME, BREED and LIFE SPAN.  Some may choose to honor a current pet.  There is considerable flexibility of what you may put on the bricks but all applications will need to be approved by the Dog Park at Tanglewood Committee

The 4”x8” industrial paving bricks are laser engraved which burns the letters into the face of the brick creating a glass surface that is naturally black and completely permanent. Each brick includes three lines for you to engrave your special tribute. Each line is limited to 18 characters. Each letters, punctuation and space counts as one character.

The Engraved Bricks are $125.00 each and will be sold until 5/01/2012.

Will there be a chance to buy memorial bricks later?

There is no plan to offer them after May 1, 2012.

Where will the bricks be placed?  They will be placed in a special place of honor at the Dog Park.

What is typically put on the brick?

• Line1: Dog’s First and Last Name (Lassie Smith)
• Line2: Breed (Golden Retriever, Shepherd Mix, etc)
• Line 3: Date of Birth and/or Death ( 9/04/1993 – 12/01/2002 or for rescued dogs where the birth date is unknown you can use the entire date of death, such as December 1, 2002)

What else may be placed on the bricks?

How can I pay for my bricks?

You may purchase a brick online using the form below or you may mail a check made payable to “Forsyth Humane Society” to 61 Miller St. Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Please include your name, address, phone number, and the three lines you would like printed on your brick. Each line can only contain 18 characters including letters, punctuation, and spaces.

SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHERS FOR $10 
FEBRUARY 25TH

Who We Are:  Members of AARF, Forgotten Felines of Forsyth, Forsyth Co. Animal Control, Forsyth Humane Society, Forsyth Veterinary Medical Association, 4 Paws Pet Foundation, Fur-Ever Friends of NC, and Humane Solution Spay/Neuter Program.

What We Do:  Combine our resources to reduce pet overpopulation in Forsyth County by providing spay/neuter vouchers to very low-income residents of Forsyth County, as defined by HUD.

How We Do It:  Each organization has contributed money, volunteers, time, and talents to provide resources to award qualifying Forsyth County residents with spay/neuter vouchers.

Where We’ll Do It: Forsyth Co. Animal Control, WS 27105; Pet and Hobby Shop, WS 27106; Let’s Pet, WS 27127; Enterprise Center, WS 27107; Country Junction Market, Walkertown 27050; Tractor Supply, Rural Hall 27045; Tractor Supply, Clemmons 27012; and Farmer’s Feed and Seed, Kernersville 27284.

When We’ll Do It:  Saturday, February 25^th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at each of the above locations.

What You Need to Bring:  If you qualify, please come to one of the above locations on the date/time above and bring the following:

• Proof of income (WIC card, W-2, etc.)
• *$10 CASH ONLY
• A valid photo ID that shows current address (Must be Forsyth County resident)
• *Proof of rabies shot for pet being applied for (certificate of vaccination) If your pet is not current on a rabies vaccine, or you don’t have documentation, you will need to pay an additional $5.

Each household is limited to 3 vouchers.  All surgeries will take place at the Central Spay, Neuter and Wellness Clinic in Kernersville, with the exception of feral cats.  Feral cat caretakers will be contacted by Forgotten Felines of Forsyth. You will be responsible for making an appointment with the clinic before March 30^th.  Only pets less than 8 years of age are eligible.   Let us know if you have transportation issues.

Buddy goes in search of a “Demon”.

Today, Mrs. D drove me, a couple of slobbery puppies and a couple of cool cats on Rover.  I LOVE road trips! This week is our road trip week to all of the high schools that are helping out with the I Love My Pet Food Drive.  Monday, we went to visit the Titans at West Forsyth and today, we went to Reynolds High school!  Mrs. D said it was home of the Demons so I started sniffing and searching for one.  I met two girls, but they were cute and did not smell like what I thought demons would smell like.  They just petted me, talked to me in that high pitch voice and kept calling me “cute”! Could not be demons-too sweet!

I tipped off the puppies about my quest, but what was I thinking? They are NOT demon hunters and do NOT have a clue how to hunt for them.  They just tried to chew on the students and then moved onto the trees. So annoying!

I kept looking and sniffing, sniffing and looking for the demons-but without any luck.  Finally, A lady drove by in a minivan with a demon magnet on the back of the car.  Wow, they look strange-they are black and gold with little horns! Suddenly, the van opened and the lady took out three bags of dog food. Two of the green ones and one blue puppy food-that got the puppies attention.  She gave them to the other demons at the school for their I Love My Pet Food Drive.   I guess I must say that we all agreed that demons are friendly and like to give us food! Tomorrow we go Spartan hunting at Mount Tabor-I will have to find my toga!

Well, that’s a wrap! Come see me and my lady, Casey this weekend at the MKT I Love My Pet Food Drive at the Clemmons Lowes Food Store from 9:00-12:30.  She is getting micro chipped as we have noticed that the old lady’s mind is not what it used to be.  We are afraid she might just wander out of the back yard at a moment’s notice.  She is also getting her nails clipped for only $5.00- what a deal!
