Forsyth Humane Society

Forsyth Humane Society is a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to enriching our community by promoting the compassionate treatment of cats and dogs. We are committed to: placing cats and dogs into loving homes; advancing community understanding of the benefits of animal companionship; providing needed resources to the pet community; supporting a no-kill adoption center and the spaying/neutering of dogs and cats.

Found a Pet

Thank you for your compassion towards this pet. Listed below are several suggestions & resources designed to reunite families.

  • Please take the found pet to a local veterinary clinic, our facility at 4881 Country Club or to Animal Control to check if he/she has a microchip.

  • Click the link to check Forsyth County Animal Control‘s current lost/found listings & list the pet.

  • Create a found pet flyer.

  • Post your flyers in the area where the pet was found.

    (Ask permission to post the signs and please remove them when your pet is found.)

  • Visit WXII Pets for additional resources for posting found pets.

  • The Winston-Salem Journal will place a “Found Animal” ad at no charge to the finder.

    If you receive a response, please consider the following suggestions for your safety and the animal’s:

    Ask for proof; examples that can be emailed or texted include a photo of the dog or cat, and/or vet records with a description. This may save both parties a trip if it is not the right animal.

     Meet in a public place, preferably with a family member or friend.
